To date, and in contrast to Western reporting on the matter, Mr. Putin has been the only grownup involved in this process. What this means is that should the Russians do what they might feel is within their right in response to provocations, the Americans and Brits may not even know that they (US and Brits) are being provocative. Pete Hegseth reportedly had no idea that attacking Russian nuclear assets crossed the brightest of Russian red lines. These are not bright people.

I think we are half a step away from Russia deciding to take out British Intelligence and Trident as a signal to the US ( and Germany/France).
Rolling onwards to Ukraine's western borders seems inevitable.
