You are spot on…I’ve been anticipating something like this for a long time…one never knows when more people will finally stand up and say: I’m mad as hell and can’t take it anymore” like the news presenter in Network. I just don’t engage in much popular culture or consumer culture.
Had the opportunity 25 years ago to live outside the U.S. My sister came to visit me once and she said to me, “Don’t you want to come back home and have your stuff?” (was having a great time with just a suitcase of clothes and little else. And I said”my stuff? No it’s just stuff.”
It is impressive to see American leaders try to bluster their ways through national decline. What is sad to me is that there are rational ways to address the circumstances. Step 1 is to accept out lots and plan accordingly.
But what we get instead is this insane thrashing about. And the looting.

Chinese median net worth is 2x ours and their life expectancy is greater. Isn't that grand?
