With apologies for stating the obvious, the world is in a bad way right now. And while a large number of decisions and events have brought ‘us,’ the collective inhabitants of the planet, to this point, it is the good ole US of A that is now leading the dysfunction and depravity. And here’s the punchline: elections aren’t going to fix what ails us. Joe Biden, the imperial ‘solution’ that might have worked thirty years ago in a world less able to fight back, has been consistently less popular than the relentlessly demonized Donald Trump, meaning that a deeper and more ominous political malady is afflicting the US at present.
I'm so glad to have found you here on Substack! You're one of my favorite writers and I used to read you regularly on Counterpunch, but I stopped reading Counterpunch when I stopped writing for them, in the spring of this year.
(I stopped writing for them because they were publishing the work of certain odious figures from the arm-Ukraine camp, which I found inexcusable. They declined to print my final submission, in which I took one of these writers to task for his disgusting hit piece on Medea Benjamin & J.S. Davies, and announced it was my final submission. Disappointing.)
I've invited the author of that hit piece to debate twice over the years because I find his views so aggressively uninformed. He never responded even though I had done an interview with him and he lives not very far from where I do.
The Left press in the US is in a bad way right now. It is mainly a group of petite bourgeois businesses that are dependent on contributions. The people with money to contribute are more often than not class enemies of the Marxist Left. They are 99.9% Democrats.
Rob, I read everything you write. The clarity of your analysis and the documentation you use make what you say undeniable. I appreciate the work you do because it helps me keep my sanity. Bless you and yours.
Now that Naked Capitalism has carried this it should reach a wider and very receptive audience. I wish we could come up with some better ways of changing the situation, but I guess at this point just growing the audience - helping people see the reality of the way the system works - is where the effort has to start. I've posted a link on my Facebook page, it's about the best I can do.
Many sites like CleanTechnica practice open censorship and ban anyone who refuses to worship this crook Biden's pro war, and pro censorship policies. Mention that Biden blew up the Nord Stream pipeline and caused 500,000 soldiers to die in Ukraine by refusing to negotiate a peace deal with Russia, and their corrupt CEO Zachary Shahan will immediately ban you for life. So, censorship by neo liberals is very real as the TWITTER FILES showed us. The Republicans also do it to a lesser extent by trying to silence anyone who criticizes apartheid Israel. So, both corrupt parties unfairly use censorship as a tool to silence any opposition to their stances on issues. This is why 50% of voters don't even vote. The Democrats don't even have primary elections and just anoint who they want to win.
hey, a typo I believe "...have been underway is less visible forms for decades." IS oughta be IN, ya??? btw, such clarity and perception in your words. Some of us have soul, perhaps, but are not gifted in our command of language. You give voice, in soul solidarity, and I thank you
Let's see, we have Yaroslav Hunka, given a standing ovation in the Canadian House of Commons; we have those much celebrated Ukrainian regiments whom everybody agreed were a problem before February 24, 2022; there was that Azov Battalion Nazi solider who toured the US and was even invited into the House of Representatives (jeez, it seems like this fascism was memory holed because I'm having a hard time finding any information on google about it); and all of this is not to mention all of the Nazis who were too useful to send to Nuremberg and brought to the US after WWII (aka Project Paperclip).
So yes, there is most definitely an approved Nazi list, and has been for a long time!

I think Lot of peoples problems seeing all this is that they need an easy solution, when you tell them both parties are horrible they just resort to lesser evilism.
